How could I refuse??

My immediate neighbours have always maintained that my house looks best in the street. I thought so too myself....simple and can never be outdated. Honestly, I've always loved coming home since moving in the very first day on June 19, 2000!!

With the new coat of paint, it looks even cosier especially on a gloomy day! So impressed they are, they couldn't resist requesting for the colour code and asked whether I minded if they have their house painted in the same shade!!

Well,of course I mind, and, very much indeed, but how can I tell them so without being offensive. I wouldn't have minded if the house is not located on the same street and so close for that matter. With a heavy heart though, I quoted them the number.

When Mdm xxxxx called again earlier, mentioning her husband opined that I might not be pleased, I took the opportunity to share with her that people in the neighbourhood especially her in-laws right opposite, who are not on speaking terms with them, may find that they are copycats!! Somehow it jolted her senses. Realising her disappointment I felt bad...

I can understand her anxiety in choice of colours for she wants to ensure her money spent would be rewarded with appreciation of her resurfaced home! It had cost me RM9,000 to paint just the exterior walls and fencing and Rm4,000 to paint the roof!

I suggested another slightly darker shade which would look just as good, simultaneously reassuring her that it should be alright if they insist on selecting my shade.....

Dog signages are aplenty but, even as I was operating the pet shop then, I couldn't source for a nice one, so I decided to have one custom made!

To the printer, I instructed, " Please remove the pot in the background and place a simple border around the signage. Let me view the artwork for approval."

"Mom, you're gonna hate these ......" said Ca-Ryn gesturing me to see the artwork e-mailed.

You bet!! Why has 'WARNING' gotta be RED? ...the borders so fanciful? ....why emphasize the lettering above my dog???

Surely, Kimi's face itself is a deterrence?!! The captions I furnished the printer were just to fill the otherwise too blank spaces. It just struck me that I should have only put Kimi with a "I LIVE HERE!!" instead. Too late now....I had 5 extra pieces done and paid for ........sigh

Am I BORED?

Frankly, no. Many were hoping that I am merely taking a break and would be back into business soon! Some even suggested I groom their loved ones in my HOME....

This question and the why? why? why? surfaced each time I answered a phone call. Reiterating my reasons, I sounded exactly like a TAPE RECORDER!
Toying with Ca-Ryn's iPad, reading, tending to my furry kids and my home, literally EAT up my TIME allowing no opportunity to even brood .....

I can't imagine anyone being bored! There surely must be something of interest in one's life. It was one of these enthusiasms that spurred me venturing into the business which have since been dissolved due to stressful procurement of helpers being one of the reasons!!

The adaptable person I am, I never know what boredom is! Bored, I'm definitely not but...missing the $$$$$$$ YES!! Lui bin, ya? .....sigh...
