The ineptness of the Maintenance Team
Sunday, June 3, 2012 between 2.25 pm to 3.05 pm
At the Clubhouse, I was shampooing my hair and was about to rinse off the lather for application of the hair conditioner when I found the tap went dry!
Gracious, I thought to myself, surely it could not be the act of the local water authority cutting off supply?
I then went from cubicle to cubicle to try out the water flow...., confirmed, not a trace of WATER!
With hands full of LATHER, I fumbled for my mobile phone trying to reach the reception to check on the status!
Just then, a lady member marched in. Apparently, the Maintenance Team had chosen to carry out the maintenance work at that particular MOMENT!!!
I sought her assistance in informing the Maintenance people to reconnect the supply, for me to at least finish off rinsing, on her way out.
Hovering within the shower cubicle for about 5 minutes without the slightest idea of the outcome, I decided to go for the steam bath!
I was there for 25 minutes before a housekeeper came asking if I minded resuming my bath at the Tower Block! I was tempted to retort if she was going to rinse me clean with her saliva if I minded!!
Was there an alternative when it may take the Maintenance workers another hour or two to complete the task?
I was subject to embarrassment trotting from the Clubhouse to the Tower Block, barefooted, with heavily lathered hair, clad in just a towel, clutching my sandals and tote bag to the amusement of the towel dispensing guys in attendance!!
Had your staff not been educated or briefed about courtesy and discretion? Should they not have checked to see if the shower area was in use before progressing with their work? Why was maintenance performed on a week-end? If, in a case of emergency, could they not have put up a NOTICE at the door?
A recurrence of this will reflect on your inefficiency in dealing with your subordinates!
